It’s a beautiful season but it’s also the season for getting sick! So, staying healthy is always at the front of our minds this time of the year. Did you know drinking hot drinks is good for you?

It’s a great way to relax, and since stress is the number one cause for most bugs relaxing/ enjoying a hot drink is the way to go! As long as you don’t cram them full of sugar and fat. Here’s our top 4:

Green Tea

It’s health benefits are often exaggerated but it does contain caffeine and a lot of antioxidants. Meaning Green tea is still a healthier alternative to drinks that are high in sugar and fat. It also counts as your daily water intake since you don’t often serve it with milk! We suggest adding a slice of lemon to it for added flavor + alkaline.

Fresh Ginger Tea

Warming, spicy ginger tea has a long history of use for stomach ache and nausea. To make it fresh, grate or slice a small piece of peeled ginger root. Pour boiled water over it and leave to brew for around 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can buy teabags in most supermarkets.

Fresh Mint Tea

Mint tea is low in calories, a great palate cleanser and has traditionally been used to aid digestion. Wash and tear up a handful of mint leaves, add to a small teapot and top up with boiling water. Alternatively, you can buy peppermint tea bags from the supermarket.

Chamomile + Lavender

You can buy a combination of this in most supermarkets these days, and oh how we love the calming qualities it offers you. This is a perfect drink for the end of the day, it will help you relax and destress from your day, while preparing yourself for sleep! We enjoy this right before bed and are certain it helps promote our sleep!
